Recreational Kayaking is a very user friendly type of kayaking. The boats used are generally wide and stable and are designed to track in a straight line. Recreational kayaking is very popular in this region.

Touring Kayaks are long and can be rather narrow boats, known for their speed and trackability. They are used primarily on flat stretches of river, lakes, bays, and on the ocean.

Whitewater Kayaking is the more adventurous discipline. It uses much smaller boats that are designed to be very maneuverable. This style of kayaking requires commitment and equipment.
