What I like best about the M3 is its ability to slow down rapids. This boat doesn’t get pushed around. I am most impressed with this boats performance in seams that want to swallow your boat. This boat won’t go down. The blunt shape of the bow packs an incredible amount of volume that keeps you on top of just about anything. The chines on this boat make it track like it’s on rails. This is a boat that is better suited to the intermediate to advanced paddler. I think it might be just a tad too hard to turn for a novice, and you need a strong boof to get it through the holes. If your paddling the steep stuff, you’ll appreciate all of the volume up front, and the predictable performance of the boat. As far as its speed, OK, it’s faster than a speeding play boat, but it feels like it’s plowing water. The stability is exactly what you’d expect from a creek boat. This boat feels very safe. The M3's tracking is great; it stays loyal to the line you put it on. You will need to work with the river to turn this boat quickly. I think this boat would boof better if it was faster. When paddling this boat lift it over the hole. If you plug it, the buoyancy in the bow will push you back into the trough. It’s what this boat is best at. It always comes to the top in a quick, stable and predictable manner. I have always appreciated Pyranha’s outfitting. The ratcheting back band is highly effective. I also think its clever that there is a place for a water bottle, and throw rope right there in front of the seat. The grab loops and security eyes are also well placed. I also appreciate the larger cockpit opening that Pyranha uses in its creek boats. -Max
