Lower Meadow, WV, 03-10-07
We went out to the Lower Meadow today at a fairly low level of 550 cfs. I have been paddling this stretch every day this week and it feels great; it is definitely one of my favorite rivers. Here are some pictures I took of Hell’s Gates, the second big rapid on the river. This is definitely a rapid that most people breathe a sigh of relief when they are at the bottom; it is a fun S-turn, yet it snakes through undercuts. On a side note, we cut the tree out of the boof below Sieve City, so that awesome boof is open again.
