On Thursday, June 7 the women of Dayton
and the surrounding area will get together for a “Girls Only” paddle. We will paddle approximately three miles of
what is considered “moving water” from Eastwood MetroPark to the Keowee
Street Bridge. This river trip generally takes 1 to 1 ½
hours.
Meet at Whitewater Warehouse at 5:30;
shuttle leaves at 6:00 p.m. If you plan on attending, please complete the
short registration on this page. Cost
will be $15.00, includes shuttle; or $5.00 if you bring your own equipment.
Note: This is not a guided river
trip. New boaters may consider taking
any of our three recreational kayaking classes prior to participating. The Basic Kayak Skills will get you started;
Basic River Running will teach you to deal with moving currents and controlling
your boat; and the Safety Skills class will teach you to deal with basic safety
and self-rescue situations.
