This three day beginner clinic is designed for those wanting to
learn the skill of whitewater kayaking. On Tuesday, April 17 from 5:30-8:30 you
will learn and practice flatwater skills, including basic strokes and
maneuvering. On Tuesday, April 24 from 5:30-8:30 you will learn how to deal
with moving water and currents, how to catch eddys, peel outs, and how to gain
boat control. This portion will be held locally on the Mad River. On Saturday,
April 28 or Sunday, April 29, from 9-4:00, the third segment of this paddling
clinic will be held on Rocky Fork and Paint Creek which is just east of
Hillsboro, 1 ½ hours from Dayton. During this class you will put to use and
practice your newly developed skills while paddling a beautiful class 1-2
stretch of whitewater, while further developing and fine tuning your skills.
For those interested, you can run the “Chutes”, a class III rapid at the end of
the day… the Grand Finale!
Costs will be $165 per person for the three day clinic.
Equipment Rentals $45, Wetsuit Rentals $18, Paddling Jacket $8. You can also
register for an additional day of training at Paint Creek and Rocky Fork (on
Sunday) for $65. Camping and lodging available.

rentals can be pre-arranged for an additional fee. There will be a minimum
