Adventure Summit 2010

Join Whitewater Warehouse and Kelly Blades at the 2010 Adventure Summit on March 6th for Touring Kayak Strokes & Rescue presentations!  The Adventure Summit will take place at Wright State University's Student Union. (Click on the link at the bottom of this page for more details including directions)

There are two kinds of paddlers in this world; those who swim and those who lie about it! To that end, this lecture will speak frankly and realistically about getting someone or yourself back into a boat once you take a swim. Bring your questions, comments, and skepticism as we all have a discussion over what makes sense and what doesn't? ADDED BONUS: Don't believe Kelly regarding rescues? Think he's full of hot air? Come on down to the pool afterward so he can prove his crazy ideas. But be advised, you might just find yourself part of the rescue process in the pool!

Have a Touring kayak? Want a touring kayak? Don't know what a touring kayak is? Come on down to the pool and not only will you see one but you will also see how they are used. This pool-side demo is geared for people who want to see what a touring kayak can really do. If you think a longer boat is too big for a little river, wait until you see how it performs in a swimming pool!

Kelly has been working in the paddle sports industry for years. Hekellyblades.jpg is the Midwest guy for P&H sea kayaks, Pyranha kayaks, Venture kayaks, and Feel Free kayaks. He is a pro paddler for Werner Paddles, Immersion Research, and NRS. He is an ACA Open Water Instructor and the Midwest Coaching officer for the BCU. In other words, he does a whole lot of stuff with kayaking
