Recreational Kayaking is a very user friendly type of kayaking. The boats used are generally wide and stable and are designed to track in a straight line. Recreational kayaking is very popular in this region.

Get started with an advantage! This hands-on class will introduce you
to the basic skills and information needed to begin kayaking in a safe
and enjoyable way. During this two hour session you will become
acquainted with the necessary equipment, learn the basic paddle strokes
and concepts, along with a variety of safety topics. Participants
should meet at Whitewater Warehouse at 4:45 p.m.; and the class will be
held on the Lagoon in Eastwood MetroPark from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Dress to
get wet. Minimum of 3 participants required. Space is limited &
reservations are required. Fee: $40 for lesson and $10 for equipment
rental if needed.
