Recreational Kayaking is a very user friendly type of kayaking. The boats used are generally wide and stable and are designed to track in a straight line. Recreational kayaking is very popular in this region.

is the most valuable class for the recreational boater to attend.
Basic River Running will be moving water instruction that deals with
controlling your kayak on the river. You will learn to perform a
variety of maneuvers that will improve your paddling ability, promote
confidence, and help you to identify and avoid hazards encountered on
the river. The skills you learn during this class, you’ll use
throughout your paddling career. Meet at Whitewater Warehouse at
5:30. The class will be held on the Mad River and runs from 6-8:00
p.m. Dress to get wet. Minimum of 3 participants required. Space is
limited & reservations are required. Fee: $50 for the lesson and $10 for equipment rental if needed. Prerequisite: Kayak Basics or Equivalent.
