Paddling Clinic on Rocky Fork Creek
Paddling Clinic on Rocky Fork Creek
April 22 and April 23
Are you looking to develop your whitewater paddling skills? This class will focus on developing effective skills, timing, and boat control. The classes will be held on the beautiful Rocky Fork and Paint Creek, (class I-3), located just east of Hillsboro, approximately 1 ½ hours from Dayton. Participants in these clinics will need to have some previous paddling experience. At a minimum you should be comfortable in either a whitewater or crossover kayak, using a spray skirt and performing wet exits. It would be preferred that you have at least some moving water experience and have a good knowledge of basic whitewater strokes. There will be a minimum requirement of protective clothing that you will need to participate in this clinic, due to the expected cold water and air temperatures that we typically have in April.
Cost will be $85 per person for a one day class. Participants will ideally have their own equipment. Reservations required & limited.
To pre-register please email the following information to [email protected]: Name, Address, City, Zip, Phone(s), Email Address, Any Medical Problems that we should be aware of, are you over 18, and a brief description of any paddling experience that you have (do you have a roll, rivers that you have paddled, classes that you’ve taken…). Which boat do you plan to paddle? What is your approx. height and weight. Also, do you prefer Saturday or Sunday? Once you’ve submitted your information someone will follow up with a phone call. If you have questions or concerns or need additional information call (937) 222-7020 or email [email protected].
Are you are looking to attend whitewater class; but don’t meet the requirements to attend this class? Not to worry. Additional classes will be scheduled and they will be ideal for the boater that is just getting started!
