River Surfing on a stand up paddleboard is exceptionally fun and is quickly gaining in popularity!  The good part is that you can do it right here in Dayton, Ohio!  On selected Wednesday evenings this summer you can learn to river surf on an inflatable stand up paddleboard at the Eastwood Park river feature.  

Attend this two hour session which includes learning river surfing skills along with safety topics.  This class is offered in a group setting; however, you will receive personalized instruction based on your skill level.  Perfect for beginners (that are coming in with the basic skills listed below; or for an intermediate looking for tips on improving their game. 

Costs will be $45 per person.  Equipment can be rented for $10 (including a board, paddle, pfd, helmet and leash); or you can bring your own.  Sign up for one class or multiple classes.  Due to the logistics of this class both prepayment and preregistration is required.  Please submit the online Reservation Form and we will contact you to complete the process.

Participation Guidelines:

• Reservations required
• Costs:  $45.00 per person; $10 Equipment Rental (if needed); plus tax
• Prerequisite:  You must have basic flatwater SUP skills; be able to swim in river water with currents
• Minimum of 2 participants required
• PFD’s/LifeJackets and Helmets must be worn while on the water
• You must be 14 or older to participate in adult classes
• Minors must be accompanied by an adult
• Dress to get wet 
• Sturdy water shoes are required (old gym shoes will work)
• You must pay and sign a waiver before getting on the water
• This class is dependent on weather or water conditions and could be moved to another location or potentially cancelled
• Check class status by calling the store at 937-222-7020
• In case of thunderstorms:  You must vacate the water for 20 minutes once lightning has been spotted
• Once you have chosen to participate, there are no refunds for changes in the weather
