Join us at the Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience at Eastwood Metropark on Saturday and Sunday, October 7-8! A variety of activities are available for you to both watch and participate in.  We are excited to offer you the opportunity to get on the water in a safe craft where you can kayak the Mad River Run feature and learn how to play in the wave.  We will show you how to make the river and in particular this feature, a fun place for you to play.  In addition, you will see whitewater pro boaters throw down tricks, see river surfing on a stand up paddleboard, there are kayak and SUP races and competitions, a whitewater kayaking clinic, a river frisbee throw and so much more!  Tip: If you'd like to participate in the water activities, you may want to bring a change of clothes with you.

RIVER BANK FRISBEE TOSS

On Saturday from 2-2:30 you can try your hand at the Frisbee Toss into the Mad River.  Stop by our booth located right next to the Mad River Run feature.

PUMPKIN AND SKULLS RACE

Sign up for this fun activity at our booth!  The Pumpkin and Skulls River Race starts at 2:30. Sweep up a pumpkin or a skull into your boat while running the Mad River drop.  Recreational boats will be provided by Whitewater Warehouse. Dress to get wet. Participants will be eligible for a prize, based on the order they finish the race.  Sign a waiver at the Five Rivers Metroparks booth and then register for the race at the Whitewater Warehouse booth next to River Run.

TRY RIVER KAYAKING

Stop by on Saturday from 3:30-4:30; and on Sunday from 1:30-2:30 to get on the whitewater  feature in an inflatable kayak with pro paddler, Bernie Farley as your instructor!  Duckies are a great beginner vessel for navigating the rapids of the Mad River!  Equipment & instruction is provided at no charge (bring a change of clothes).  Sign a waiver at the Five Rivers Metroparks booth and then come by the Whitewater Warehouse booth next to River Run during the designated times to try your hand at running the Mad River Run Feature!  You won’t regret it!

WHITEWATER KAYAKING CLINIC

Build confidence on the river with Tyler as your guide.  On Sunday, October 8, from 1:30-2:30, Tyler Mittlestead will teach a whitewater skills class at the Mad River Feature.  You can pre-register by contacting Whitewater Warehouse at [email protected] or you can stop by our booth.  You’ll need to provide your own equipment; sign a waiver at the Five Rivers Metroparks booth, and then sign in at the Whitewater Warehouse booth next to River Run 20-30 minutes ahead of time.   

OTHER ACTIVITIES
